The Power of Inspiration

It’s amazing how inspiration can strike at any moment

It is found in the simplicity of all that surround us

We, as writers, sometimes rely heavily on inspiration to move us in the the right direction

We are constantly seeking it

Seeking clues of the wonders it will unveil

Finding ourselves walking upon new paths

Beginning the conversations

Written in symbols, and fragments

Which in turn form words

Words that portray meaning

Meaning that speaks truth

The essence of what becomes 
From that simple spark of inspiration we so desperately desire

Today, as we ventured out on our annual tradition of the writing marathon

It is inspiration we sought

The beauty of nature and imagination became the centerpiece for invoking creativity

Some of us found ourselves reminiscing

Rekindling fond tales of our past

Others found a sense of passion inspired by their senses

Taking in all the views, smells, and scents of the surrounding beauty

Few even took a leap of faith

Spreading their wings

Flying free of past constrictions

While being guided out of that old familiar path

The one walked so many times before

Guided by the hands of those around them

Venturing into new territories where meaning

Is created from experimentation

From letting go of the unknown

And not being afraid to become part of the experience

Today we were all inspired

Not all in the same way

Not all following the same paths

No one person like the other

But today inspiration was the guiding light

That helped us arrive at the same conclusion

Because today, alongside one another

We were able to say

That WE ARE writers
